This is where
we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us
before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.
JUNE 2010: The entire staff volunteered for two days at the "Illinois Mission of Mercy" in Bloomington-Normal, where over a Million Dollars of dentistry was donated. May 2010: Dr Benavides gave a two hour presentation at the "Iowa Dental Association's Annual Session" to more than 550 attendees (!). The topic was "Digital Photography for the Dental Team - From Capture to Conversion." As promised, the following link is the powerpoint I used (minus a few photos to keep the size down):
Nov 2009: Dr Benavides gave an all day presentation on 'Custom White Balance along with photo and computer workflow in the Dental Office' to a group of Colleagues in Kalamazoo, MI. March 2009: Dr Benavides gave a
presentation to the Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center regarding dental sleep apnea
devices.
September, 2008: Dr Benavides completed 125 hours of Implant Education (lectures/ participation) and graduated from the Misch International Implant Institute. In conjunction, he's a member, and passed the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI) Fellowship
July 2008: Dr Benavides was
accepted as a member of the American
Academy of Restorative Dentistry (AARD) March 2007: Dr's Benavides and
John Derango did an all day lecture with the "Dubuque Dental Society"
regarding "Dental Risk Assessment." There were more than 130
people in attendance. This lecture is based on the work of Dr John Kois, and was a review on how people
lose their teeth, and how to minimize risk. People who suffer from gum
disease are treated differently than people prone to decay, or who grind. Feb 2007: Dr Benavides presented a table clinic regarding "COLOR
CALIBRATION" for dentists at the "American Academy of Restorative Dentistry"
at the Drake Hotel.
August 2006: Dr Benavides spoke to the Kois Mentors in Seattle
regarding Color Calibration and Digital Photography. August 2006: Dr Benavides is named a CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR for the Kois Center
2/1/2006: Dr Benavides spoke to the "Illinois Valley Dental Society" regarding photography. Dr Benavides
spoke October 2005 in Grand Rapids, MI at the office of Dr Betsy Bakeman.
The subject of this lecture is "Simplified Digital Photography, Photoshop,
and Powerpoint for the Dentist." Dr Mark
Benavides and Dr John Derango (both are mentors for Dr Kois' "Creating
Restorative Excellence") co-hosted a one hour program at the Chicago
Dental Society's 2005
Midwinter Dental meeting, one of the largest dental meetings in the world! Some of you are
aware that I'm co-developing software with Dr. John Kois, founder of "Creating Restorative Excellence."
Please follow this link to see an example of the
output of the software. Dr Kois and I are finished with the first version
of the software, and are now working on version 2. Dr Benavides
has lectured to several studyclubs in the area in 2004-2006, including Elgin,
and the south Chicago suburbs. Recent Changes to
